چکیده

The combination of CDMA and space time block coding (STBC) has been proposed for indoor environment where the delay spreads are very small and the channel is flat fading. However, these schemes are not valid for the outdoor situation where the delay spreads are significantly large and the channel is frequency selective fading. Therefore, in our paper, we propose CDMA with space-time block coding with three transmit antennas for frequency selective fading channels (outdoor situation) without loss of diversity order. In the proposed scheme, Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) technique is used to mathematically change the frequency selective fading channel to multi flat fading channels. It is worthy of noting that our scheme provides very low decoding complexity compared to CDMA with space time trellis coding. Also, the proposed scheme provides high performance and high bandwidth efficiency. Simulation results are provided to show the significant improvement in the performance achieved by the proposed scheme.

Study on transmit/receive antenna diversity for multi-carrier transmission

Abstract High speed data transmissions are required for the next generation mobile communication systems. However, broadband mobile channel is composed of many propagation paths with different time delays, producing severe frequency-selective fading channel. Recently, multi-carrier code division multiple access (MC-CDMA) has been attracting much attention for the broadband wireless access in th...

Frequency-domain Pre-Equalization for Multi-code DS-CDMA Mobile Radio

Frequency-domain pre-equalization (pre-FDE) transmission can be used instead of FDE reception for improving the transmission performance in a severe frequency-selective fading channel. Antenna diversity technique is also a well-known technique for improving the transmission performance, especially, transmit antenna diversity technique has been attracting much attention. In this paper, we propos...

Performance Evaluation for Frequency-domain Pre-equalization with Space-Time block coding Transmit/Receive diversity in DS-CDMA Mobile Radio

Abstract Recently, frequency-domain pre-equalization (pre-FDE) transmission has been attracting attention for improving the SC transmission (e.g., DS-CDMA) performance in a frequency-selective fading channel. Antenna diversity reception is also a well-known technique for improving the transmission performance. However, so far the joint use of pre-FDE and the receive diversity has not been discu...

CDMA cellular downlink transmission with transmit arrays and power control: circuit-switched and packet-switched systems

Wireless CDMA cellular downlink communications with transmit antenna arrays in multipath fading channels is studied. Transmit diversity and various beamforming techniques are investigated and compared, in conjunction with power control. No instantaneous downlink channel information is assumed; however, the obtained results are also compared with results assuming ideal feedback. The study is car...

[Poster Presentation]Optimum Number of Transmit Antennas for STTD in MC-CDMA Distributed Antenna Network

Abstract Distributed antenna network (DAN) can mitigate the problems arising from of the propagation path loss and shadowing loss and achieve better transmission performance over the entire cell area compared to centralized antenna network (CAN). Many transmit antennas are spatially distributed in DAN while they are co-located at the same base station in CAN. The use of space time block coded t...
